Oh, no, they won't have to curtail the endless supply of Law'n'order reruns. They'll just have to stick with the somewhat older episodes. Which would suit me fine ... former senator Thompson grates on me pretty good even in the TV role.
I think what's really freaky, though, is seeing Dennis Farina as the Lenny Briscoe replacement. The first part I ever saw Mr. Farina in was Ray Bones in "Get Shorty." And so, no matter what "Ray" says as the detective, all I can hear is, "They say the f--king smog is the f--cking reason you have such beautiful f--cking sunsets." Good stuff.
The interesting thing about Dennis Farina's character was that he seemed to be a little shady. He wore designer suits. He wore gold watches. Not the typical detective garb. He had kind of a goomba vibe going.

Well, the Repubs ARE looking for another Ronald Reagan....
They'd have to stop showing Law & Order re-runs. What will Dick Wolf do?

Maybe someday they'll learn that idolatry ain't much of a substitute for thought and principles.
Or maybe not.

Wasn't Ice-T in one of the Law & Order spinoff shows? Maybe Thompson can choose him as his running mate...
That's a GREAT idea! I like it a lot. Ice-T emits, I think, a sly little GOP "vibe" ...
