It was nothing, really -- just an irresponsible bit of fun on my part. Since the president-elect is being celebrated as something of a novelty (not being completely Caucasian), I was reminded of the classic Mel Brooks movie "Blazing Saddles," in which the new sheriff of Rock Ridge is similarly novel. A fragment of script:
[Gabby Johnson (on the roof of the church) spots the new sheriff riding into town] Gabby Johnson: [shouting] The sheriff's a nigger. [the last word is lost in the peal of a church bell] Harriett Van Johnson: What did he say? Dr. Sam Johnson: He said the sheriff is near.
No offense intended to anyone, and I'm not a racist or anything. I just esteem a good laugh above responsibility, good taste, and, well, pretty much everything else, I guess.

Jim, I'm slow. I've been trying for three days to figure out what you mean here, and I haven't been able. Please spell it out for idiots like me.

Oops! Now I have to admit I never saw "Blazing Saddles." You know, I live in a cave and only come out once a year.
Thanks for the response, anyway.
